Piscassic Pond Winery, L.L.C.

Wine Label
The Piscassic Pond Winery L.L.C. started in 2002 with a goal to produce a Honey Wine (or Honey Mead is it is frequently known) that was distinctively different from others imported in our area.  Our Mead is Dry to Semi-Sweet and made with local New Hampshire Honey.

We became a licensed Winery in 2003 and using honey harvested in 2003 produced our first batch for release in 2004.  We have been adding several additional flavored Meads to our line up each year since then.  We will continue to add new flavors in the future, as well as some other Mead related products.

The Winery is named after the Piscassic Pond which is pictured on the original label.  This Pond was an important source of ice for refrigeration in the Newmatket/Stratham area in the late 1800's and into the early 1900's, until electric refrigerators replaced the need for ice.  An aerial view may be seen here.
